Parent Meeting for WASC Accreditation

Sunday, February 26 at 4 p.m.

Escondido High School will be welcoming our Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Accreditation Visiting Committee on February 26-March 1. During their visit to Escondido, the seven Visiting Committee members will be conducting classroom observations, examining student work, and meeting with faculty members, students, parents, community members, and EUHSD administrators. WASC is an ongoing school improvement process which helps schools take an in-depth look at what currently exists and what needs to be improved in relation to student learning and the school’s programs. This process fulfills the requirements for Escondido High School to be accredited. In preparation for their visit, Escondido’s faculty collaboratively wrote a Self-Study Report which examines the school’s organization, curriculum, instruction, assessment/accountability, and culture which is available to view on our school website.

Our WASC Visiting Committee would like to meet with Escondido parents and community members to gather feedback regarding the progress our school is making towards improving student achievement and meeting our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes. Parents and community members are invited to meet with the WASC Visiting Committee on Sunday, February 26th at 4 p.m. in the EHS Learning Center. It is important to have parents and community members in attendance. Translation and refreshments will be provided.
